Connect GitLab to AshnaAI

Explore GitLab groups and projects, read source, and collaborate on merge requests.

What this connector does

The GitLab connector works with GitLab.com and can target a self-managed instance when your AshnaAI workspace is configured for that host.

What you can do after connecting

  • Explore groups and projects
  • Read files and diffs
  • Open merge requests and add review comments

Before you start

  • A GitLab account with access to the projects

How to connect GitLab

  1. Sign in to AshnaAI

Open https://app.ashna.ai and sign in to the workspace where you want GitLab available to agents and chat.

  2. Open Integrations

Go to Integrations from the sidebar, or open Account and choose the Connectors tab. Search for the connector if the list is long.

  3. Select GitLab

Find the GitLab card and click Connect. AshnaAI opens a secure sign-in window for the provider.

  4. Authorize access

Review the permissions, then approve the request in the GitLab sign-in window. Keep the popup open until AshnaAI confirms the connection.

  5. Confirm the Connected badge

When authorization finishes, the GitLab card shows Connected. You can now ask AshnaAI to use that account in chat or attach it to an agent.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use a self-managed GitLab?

Yes, when your AshnaAI workspace is set up for that GitLab host. GitLab.com works with the standard OAuth connect flow.
