How to import a local file

What you'll do

Grant a folder, search for the file, then import it. Desktop returns a file you can convert, edit, or chat with. Folder grants last at least 30 days.

This guide walks through import local file in AshnaAI. You stay in chat. You do not need a separate desktop of buttons for each file job.

Before you start

Open AshnaAI and start a new chat.

This job needs the desktop app. Download it from ashna.ai/download, install it, and sign in with the same account.

Have your pdf, xlsx, image file ready to attach, or use a file you already uploaded in this chat.

How to import local file

Follow the steps below in order. Confirm in chat before AshnaAI sends, posts, or writes to Tally.

Step 1. Install desktop

Download the app from https://www.ashna.ai/download and sign in.

Step 2. Grant the folder

Select Downloads or Documents once.

Step 3. Ask for the file

Ask: find invoice.pdf in Downloads and import it, then unlock or summarize.

Keep in mind

The website alone cannot see Downloads. Install desktop.

AshnaAI will not convert PDF to Word, PDF to Excel, or compress a PDF. Those jobs are not available. Use merge, split, unlock, protect, and the other how-tos linked below.
