Connect WhatsApp Business to AshnaAI
Send session messages and approved templates, manage media, and read WhatsApp Business analytics. Connect with Meta OAuth or a System User token.
What this connector does
WhatsApp Business needs a WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) linked to a Meta Business. Most teams connect with Meta OAuth from Integrations.
If you cannot complete an OAuth redirect — for example a server-to-server setup — use the API-key path: a long-lived Meta System User token, the WABA id, and the default phone-number id.
What you can do after connecting
- Send session messages and approved templates
- Upload and send media
- Manage templates and the business profile
- Read messaging and conversation analytics
Before you start
- A WhatsApp Business Account linked to a Meta Business
- Messaging and management permission on that WABA
How to connect WhatsApp Business
Sign in to AshnaAI
Open https://app.ashna.ai and sign in to the workspace where you want WhatsApp Business available to agents and chat.
Open Integrations
Go to Integrations from the sidebar, or open Account and choose the Connectors tab. Search for the connector if the list is long.
Select WhatsApp Business
Find the WhatsApp Business card and click Connect. AshnaAI opens a secure sign-in window for the provider.
Authorize access
Review the permissions, then approve the request in the WhatsApp Business sign-in window. Keep the popup open until AshnaAI confirms the connection.
Confirm the Connected badge
When authorization finishes, the WhatsApp Business card shows Connected. You can now ask AshnaAI to use that account in chat or attach it to an agent.
Or connect with a System User token
On the WhatsApp Business (API key) card, paste the System User access token, WABA id, and default phone-number id. Optionally add the Business portfolio id if you need analytics reads.
Frequently asked questions
OAuth or API key — which should I use?
Use OAuth when you can sign in with Meta in the browser. Use the System User token path for server-to-server or self-hosted setups that cannot complete the redirect.
Can I message customers who have not written first?
Outside the customer-care window you must use an approved template. Session messages are for conversations that are already open.
